BARLEYCORN BARNS are a 16th century timber framed barn conversion situated In the small picturesque north Shropshire village of Grinshill.
The barns are part of a cottage which was once an inn where, according to legend, a highwayman was reputed to have often visited with his bootie after a robbery. (Needless to say, there is none left to be found now!)
The barns are ideally located for many local attractions:
• The medieval town of Shrewsbury set in a loop of the
river Severn, with the best of both old and new, from modern shopping precincts to hall-timbered buildings.
• Ironbridge Gorge, where the industrial revolution began, and now a 'world heritage' site.
• Hawkstone Park with its caves and follies.
• Bridgnorth, for the Severn Valley Railway and vintage Cliff Railway.
• Ellesmere, (Shropshire's 'lake district')
• Local horse riding and walks.
• The local pub is within walking distance and has both bar meals and a full resturant.
